Guts Poker Review
Guts Poker is what you might call the new kid on the block when it comes to European online poker rooms. The brand was created by Gaming Innovation Group (GIG) in 2013. It quickly garnered a reputation as a trustworthy online poker room with solid traffic and popular tournaments.
This success led to Swedish group Betsson acquiring Guts Poker in 2020 along with gambling brands Kaboo, Rizk and Thrills as part of GIG’s subsidiary Zecure Gaming Limited.
In May of 2020 Betsson moved Guts Poker (along with its own Betsson Poker platform) onto the iPoker Network. This move saw Guts Poker enjoy a significant boost in player traffic as it now shares a player pool with several other well-known online poker brands.
While the brand is still building its name, the Guts Poker player base is growing steadily. This is thanks to an impressive welcome bonus and better gaming options as a result of the move to the iPoker Network.
How to Sign-up
Signing-up to Guts Poker is straightforward and easy – just follow these quick steps to get started:
- Head to Guts Poker here.
- Click Play in Browser or Download Client.
- Create an account (you’ll need a mobile number for verification)
- Activate your account.
- Play some poker.
Welcome bonus
One of the standout benefits of signing up with Guts Poker is the €1,000 welcome bonus for all new players.
But this isn’t your typical 100% first deposit match bonus. Nope, this is a bonus that is automatically added to your account as soon as you create your poker alias.
The bonus is then released in €5 increments for every €25 that you pay in rake fees. So the more you play, the more you earn.
Better yet is the fact that the bonus isn’t given to you in the form of chips or tickets — it’s real cash that you can use any way you see fit. There are no wagering requirements and you have 60 days to take advantage of the bonus.
Pretty impressive, right?
Why is Guts Poker so popular?
Like we said earlier, the move to the iPoker Network has had a big impact on the growth of this brand. But there are also other reasons for its popularity such as:
- Great gaming options
- Solid tournaments
- Consistent traffic
- An impressive welcome bonus in cold hard cash
- The large player pool thanks to the iPoker move
Guts Poker UI
Guts Poker originally ran on the Microgaming Poker Network (MPN). But since the closure of MPN in 2020, Guts Poker now runs on the iPoker Network.
Now, aside from the traffic aspect of the move which we’ve mentioned already, the other benefit of joining iPoker is that Guts Poker now has a slick client and browser-based platform. Graphics are top notch and there are endless customisation options for your tables.
It’s ridiculously easy to navigate the lobby and find the games that you want and the multi-table mini-view is quite nifty. Even the multiplay option is smooth as silk with very few glitches.
Much like Betsson Poker, Guts Poker only has one downloadable client that can only be installed on a Windows PC. That said, the client will also run on a Mac using a Windows emulator.
So what about mobile gaming? Well, that’s easy as all games can be played in a web browser on any device. While some players prefer to have a dedicated app, it’s nice to see an instant play option that actually works well on both iOS and Android.
Overall, this is a great user interface with no major issues that we can find.
Traffic overview and games
The move to the iPoker Network has seen player numbers climb steadily with each passing month. It has also seen gaming options improve since the MPN days.
Right now, you’ll find anywhere from 3,000 to 4,000 players online at off-peak times. That number can rise to as many as 7,000 during peak hours such as weekends or evenings. The player pool can be even bigger when big tournaments are on.
We think you’ll agree, those are impressive figures for a relative new kid on the block.
All this means that finding a game at any time of the day or night is pretty easy on Guts Poker.
So what about the games then? There are the usual variants of Texas Hold’em, Stud, and Omaha with buy-ins for as little as €0.01.
And yes, there are plenty of tournaments too. In fact, there are so many tournaments on each day that we’re not even going to try to list them. We’ll just say that the Sunday Main Event is a €50,000 event. Nice.
The platform also has its own Twister Spin & Go tournaments that have random prizes determined by a multiplier. These are the same kind of Sit & Go tournaments you see on most platforms these days so nothing new here, but the prize pools can grow quite fast. Last time we checked the Age of Gods prize pool was €285k for buy-ins of €1 – €10.
Can you use tracking software such as HEM?
Despite the fact that most online poker providers have banned Heads Up Displays (HUDs) outright, Guts Poker has no qualms about its players making use of them.
The PC client provides real-time statistics for most HUD software making the site extremely attractive for poker grinders. This also means that the games can be tough at times, but that doesn’t mean it’s not a profitable platform.
Rake and rakeback
Every online poker platform charges a rake — it’s a fact of life. However, not every platform will offer you 30% rakeback.
Rake is charged according to the game and varies from 5% to 6.67%. But how do you claw back that 30%?
Well, it’s all based on your loyalty points. As you earn more points you move up through the Guts Poker loyalty program tiers. And as you move up, your rakeback increases accordingly.
You earn those points by playing cash games and the tiers are as follows:
Silver — 0 to 499points — 10%
Gold — 500 to 999 points — 15%
Platinum — 1,000 to 2,999 points — 20%
Diamond — 3000+ points — 30%
You’ll need to play quite a lot of games to hit the 3000 points mark, but it is possible.

Promotions and campaigns
The most notable promotion on Guts Poker is, of course, the €1,000 welcome bonus for all new players.
As we mentioned earlier, players on Guts Poker can also take part in Twister Spin & Go tournaments. Then there are daily missions that offer prizes such as tournament tickets and other rewards.
There’s also the weekly Twister series with a prize pool of €12,500. Players who opt in and play Twister tournaments at predetermined buy-in levels are placed on a leaderboard. Performances are tallied after a week with the player finishing at the top of the leaderboard winning 20 x €50 Twister tickets.
The site may run periodical promotions from time to time and will let players know about these via email. But, generally speaking, it’s the Twister series and that welcome bonus that are the main draws.
Deposits and withdrawals
Deposits are very straightforward with Guts Poker. The following methods are available for most regions:
Bank Transfer, Trustly, Visa/Mastercard/Maestro, Zimpler, Paypal, Paysafecard, Skrill, Neteller, SoFort, EcoPayz.
The minimum deposit amount is €10. If you can’t find your preferred payment method, you can contact customer support and ask them to add it to their list.
Withdrawals are also quite simple and this is one of the areas that Guts Poker really stands out from the crowd.
